Boxer Introduction
The Professional Boxing Association (PBA) is proud to announce its development into Muay Thai, setting a standard for safety, regulation, and professionalism within the sport. The PBA has been granted a first of its kind global insurance policy and is positioned to sanction and regulate Muay Thai events worldwide. Hitman Fight League has taken a pioneering step in becoming the first officially recognised Muay Thai promotion. This decision by Hitman Fight League prioritises boxer safety and the long-term growth of Muay Thai as a sport and enables Hitman Fight League to operate as a fully regulated promotion moving forward.
What This Means for You
As a boxer competing on Hitman Fight League events, you will be part of a structured and regulated system designed to protect your health and safety. This ensures that you are fit to compete to a medical standard accepted in other sanctioned combat sports. You shall also be protected by the PBA’s high-risk personal injury boxer insurance policy when competing on PBA sanctioned events.
Steps to Becoming a Regulated Boxer
1. Complete an OCT Eye Test
- Book an appointment with a high street optician to complete an OCT Eye Test.
- Retain the results of this OCT eye test, as you will need to present them to the doctor at your annual medical examination.
2. Annual Boxing Medical Examination
- You are required to undergo a full annual boxing medical.
- This will be conducted at the weigh-in by the event doctor.
- Present your OCT Eye Test results to the doctor during this medical examination.
3. PBA Licensing
- Upon successfully passing the medical examination, the doctor will declare you fit to box.
- You will then be issued a PBA Muay Thai License, valid for 12 months.
- With this license, you are able to compete in any PBA-sanctioned Muay Thai event within that 12 month period.
Membership & Insurance Costs
- Annual PBA License Fee: £50 per annum (automatically deducted from fight purse).
- Per-Fight Boxer Insurance Fee: £20 per bout (covered by Hitman Fight League as part of their operational costs).
Why This Matters
By following these simple yet crucial steps, you are contributing to the progression of Muay Thai as a regulated sport. The PBA ensures that every fighter competes in a safe environment, with protections in place that align with the accepted standards established in other sanctioned combat sports. We are excited to welcome you as part of this movement and commend Hitman Fight League for its leadership in setting a new standard for Muay Thai promotions worldwide. By embracing these steps, it enables Hitman Fight League to move closer towards the mainstream and for Muay Thai as a sport to gain the recognition it deserves.
